2 Ways to Increase Your Conversion Rate Instantly

In a recent Trend Talk Discussion with couples (N=62) from our wedding panel, we asked them about their biggest frustrations when looking for wedding vendors and the importance of certain aspects of wedding vendor websites.

Interestingly enough, less than 15% of couples had no frustrations when looking for wedding vendors and “Finding reasonably priced vendors” topped the frustration list.

The two most important things couples want to see on wedding vendor websites;

  • Prices
  • Contact Information

In fact, 81% said having prices on the vendor website was “Very Important” to them with contact information falling in second place at 77%.

Putting Prices on Your Website

I know there are different thoughts on this, however if you are opposed to it, consider this: with starting prices and/or price ranges on your website you will increase your conversion rate instantly! This is because the couples that contact you already know they can afford you. Also, make it EASY for couples to find your pricing information. Make it a link on the main menu or at the top of your site.

Putting Your Contact Information at the Top

I did a quick test of 10 venue sites in the New York City area where only 2 of the 10 (20%) had contact information visible on their home page and only 1 had it at the top of the page. This is the second most important thing couples want to see on your website, why would you not have it on the home page, at a minimum? If you want couples to call, you have to MAKE IT EASY for them to do so.

Add the following information (or make up your own) to the top of your website somewhere: (make sure you have phone and email contact information)

Need Help, Have a Question or to Book Now Call: XXX-XXX-XXXX or Email: XXXX@youremailaddress.com

If you do these 2 things I guarantee that you’ll convert more couples that contact you right away. Why? Because these things are very important to them and you’ll get contact from couples that know they can afford you.

Do it and share the results!

Great tips! The contact information tip is so true!

Great post Shane. I look at countless wedding vendor websites and can’t quite understand why the contact information is at the VERY bottom of the page. It’s not enough to just have it on your contact page.

Agreed. Leaving prices off of your websites means you are skipped- NOT picked.

Shane, this makes WAY too much sense. Give brides and grooms what they want, and get more results. So simple, yet so often forgotten. Thanks for breaking it down!

This is such great information because there are so many schools of thought here. I have always had my prices on my website but recently changed the prices to a “range” which has helped me dramatically. It gives me way more control and is also useful to the couple looking for a price range that is reasonable. I notice that many wedding officiants only offer a starting price so the couple never knows how much they are going to pay. Anyway, thanks for this very useful information. I’m validated!!

I think ranges are a great idea, because it gives the couple a better perspective on what they can expect.

I just changed my scheme with this today, and already it’s paying off. I have now added a range for my pricing and it is already paying off. Thanks for the insight!
