Bugged-eyed readers can't believe Black Gold, Mel Howard-Elite story

An expanded EFN readership responding to the reported troubles at Mel Howard-Elite, a.k.a., Black Gold, say they're not surprised at the fall the vest maker has taken in the past three-years. But many say they do not understand how the CEO of the company can deny the seriousness of embroilment with governmental agencies.

Readers in New York state told EFN,"They knew what was happening because we've all had to fax back forms to respond to the investigation." Readers in all parts of the country following the downfall said, "This company use to make quality goods, employ workers, create fashion and innovate in areas of marketing and advertising." Even current competitors that use to work for the old Mel Howard gave the devil its due this week saying, "We innovated counter cards and swatches before anyone, back in the early 1990's; no one ever did that." ...
